Winter has arrived and I can’t stop thinking of my holidays in one the most beautiful paradises in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, the lovely island of Palma<\/a> de Mallorca!<\/p>\n

Honestly, I spent more time under the water than on the surface, but the things I had the chance to spot on both sides interested me so much that I have decided I definitely want to go back asap!!<\/p>\n

While I was in Palma I did a 3-day intensive diving session along Cala Ratjada, which is a natural Park. The protected area was created in 2007 and consists of 11.000 hectares of protected sea. It is only about 30 minutes away by boat from Cala Bona harbour.<\/p>\n

Cala Ratjada offers so many different dive spots; I managed to visit 5, and I loved all of them! I saw so many scorpion fish and brown meagre of many different sizes and colours! Also many crustaceans and cuttlefish gathering together; and then of course the amazing underwater landscape, crystal turquoise water and colourful species of other ‘sealife’ such as Gorgonia and Soft coral; also underwater caves and amazing paths with Spirographs hiding away when we got too close!!<\/p>\n

So even if for a moment I wished I’d had gills and could stay submerged forever, I haven’t, so I had to walk on the land for my basic needs \u2013 such as relaxing by the beach drinking “claras”. It\u2019s a difficult life! I definitely got to make the most of the food. OH MY GOD the food!<\/p>\n

I had the most amazing \u2019Torrada\u2019 of my life in a lovely little cute bar in a place called Cap de Pera. Fresh XXL sized slice of bread, smothered in fresh tomato sauce with delicious and tasty fresh cooked meet, together with smoked cheese and dark olives…. absolutely delicious especially when starving after an intense day spent diving!<\/p>\n

I have visited a good number of places in Mallorca and I will be more than happy to give you more tips on further posts! Next time I’ll tell you more about \u2018Cuevas del Drac\u2019 and the beautiful castle on the top of the peak of \u2018Cap de Pera\u2019, as well as all the beautiful beaches I’ve visited!<\/p>\n
