Barcelona offers the visitor an unforgettable experience and the opportunity to learn Spanish in what is undeniably one of the most beautiful cities in the world - Barcelona. This is a modern, thriving city, yet at the same time rich in cultural and historical heritage - the architecture of Gaudí, the Gothic Quarter, the Roman ruins, the famous 'Ramblas', as well as the Picasso and Dalí museums and all the beautiful buildings of the modernist period, which fill the centre of this outstandingly beautiful and atmospheric city. All this makes Barcelona a simply ideal location for a Spanish language course.

You can learn Spanish in Barcelona on one of our Spanish language courses and at the same time enjoy the 4 kilometers of sandy beaches, a wonderful Mediterranean climate, with warm summers and mild winters, stunning scenery and the ski resorts of the Pyrenees Mountains are less than 2 hours drive away. Because of its superb location, on the Mediterranean, yet close to the mountains and beautiful countryside, Barcelona offers you everything, whatever your tastes or interests.

Our school in Barcelona is in the best possible location, just a short walk from Plaza Cataluña. Gaudi’s famous 'la Pedrera' and ‘Casa Batllo‘ are just 5 minutes walk from our school. The school has spacious, air-conditioned classrooms, providing a wonderful language-learning environment. There is also a school internet cafe, sun terraces and large shady garden for students to relax in during break time, or after class.

Accommodation

• All accommodation is centrally located, but as Barcelona is a very large city, you should normally expect to take the metro from your accommodation to the school.
• In the student residence, there may sometimes be Spanish students, as well as other international students from our school.
• All the host families speak 'Castilian' Spanish, so you will only be spoken to in standard Spanish, not Catalan.

Cultural Activities at our School

• Guided visits to Gaudi's Sagrada Familia church, Olympic port, Montjuic, Picasso. museum, and many more locations within Barcelona.
• Evenings out with tutors -Tapas evenings, Flamenco shows.
• Spanish film evening's in school.
• Welcome party.

In Barcelona, we also offer Superior Shared Apartments and a Superior Student Residence, offering high-standard accommodation in the center of Barcelona, just a few minutes walk from the school.

Superior Shared Apartments
The superior shared apartments are all located in the same building, just 7 minutes’ walk from our school Each apartment has 2 bathrooms, a sitting room with flat screen TV and kitchen. These apartments have recently been refurbished to a very high standard. If you like, you can even opt to have an en-suite private bathroom and balcony! Each apartment also has FREE WI-FI internet access. There is a maximum of just 5 students per apartment, and all apartments have access to sun terraces on the roof of the building, ideal for sunbathing or relaxing in the afternoon or evening. If you would like to have accommodation which is guaranteed to be in the centre of Barcelona, ideal for going to school, going shopping, or going out at night, then choose to stay in one of our Superior Shared Apartments.

Superior Residence
If you would like to stay in the same high standard accommodation as offered in the Superior Shared Apartments (described above), but would like to have 2 meals per day provided for you in the residence, then choose to stay in our Superior Residence. The Superior Residence is located in the same building as the Superior Shared Apartments. There is FREE WI-FI internet access throughout the Superior Residence. Twin and single rooms are available, as well as the option of a private en-suite bathroom and balcony. As with the superior shared apartments, you are right in the centre of Barcelona, just a few minutes walk from the school, the shops and the nightlife!

Whatever accommodation you choose, our school provides a wide range of cultural activities, for students to participate in, learning about Spain and the Spanish way of life, whilst at the same time practising Spanish through debates, guided walks, Spanish film evenings in the school, evenings out with tutors, excursions and 'Cultural lessons'.

Arrival in Barcelona

Fly to Barcelona Airport. There are regular coaches and trains form the airport to Plaza Cataluña, in the centre of Barcelona, from where you can take a taxi to your accommodation.

Alternatively, ask us to arrange an airport transfer for you. You will then be met at the airport and taken to your accommodation.

Christmas / New Year Spanish Course

If you want to learn Spanish in Barcelona and enjoy something a little different, choose the Barcelona Christmas course! The city is more alive than ever at Christmas time, with Christmas markets, music and lights. It is truly an enchanting experience, and if you stay in Barcelona for New Year you can join in the celebrations and see some of the city's legendary nightlife at its' very best.

The Christmas / New Year course is available for 1 or 2 weeks and combines 20 Spanish classes per week with a programme of cultural activities. Explore the Christmas market, drink some mulled wine on the Rambla de Raval and soak up the atmosphere. Evenings out with the tutors, visits to museums and guided tours of Barcelona's many attractions are organised by our school. The activities are included in the price with the exception of entrance fees, transport and personal consumption of drinks/food.
